RFID Mobility Pass and RFID Mobility Gate are tools for flexible and integrated management of the access control of different categories of vehicles and users (commercial vehicles, tourist buses, residents, disabled individuals, etc.) in various urban areas, thus allowing real-time monitoring.

Gate technological components

The system consists of:

  • antenna for reading the area of interest (reader)
  • control unit and router for collecting and transmitting data

The system is based on an RFID reader operating in the non-licensed UHF band 865-870MHz in accordance with ISO 18000-6 and EPC Global Class 1 Gen2 standards (with regard to radio frequency technological functions) and ETSI EN 302 208 and ETSI EN 300 220 standards (with regard to electromagnetic compatibility characteristics).

In real conditions of use and in accordance with the law (2W), system performance is the same in 99.9% of cases with speeds of up to 120 Km/h, as determined both by laboratory analyses and multiple field measurements.

RFID Mobility Pass

RFID Mobility Passes are passive UHF RFID tags that act as a digital license plate to identify vehicles using RFID. They guarantee all the features of an active tag but cost 20 times less. Fully customizable with the emblem or coat-of-arms of the city or mobility company, they are available in the form of cards and anti-counterfeit stickers placed on the windshield.
Thanks to RFID Mobility Passes, it is possible to manage multiple services related to mobility on a single platform: free flow transit and billing, access to parking in a building, etc.
In combination with the Smart Sanctions system, the RFID Mobility Passes make the work of road inspectors easier, faster, and more accurate.

RFID Mobility Gate to control tolls and access points

Thanks to UHF RFID technology, RFID Mobility Gates placed at the entrance of LTZs or restricted access areas make it possible to identify, track, and monitor vehicles, goods, and people in order to report any violations through INES Cloud. Characterized by extremely accurate reading performance (99.9%), they can accurately measure the permanence of each vehicle in the monitored areas, and in combination with cameras they serve as an effective tool for activating free-flow toll systems.
In combination with PSS, RFID Mobility Gates installed in parking spots reserved for special categories make it possible to verify the right to park in such areas.

License plate recognition

License plate recognition cameras make it possible to monitor access to areas with limited or restricted traffic by autonomously defining the reference time slots. In combination with RFID Mobility Gates, it is also possible to easily manage loading/unloading permits or other temporary permits.
